Biventricular Pacemaker / Defibrillator Echocardiographic Optimisation

Using echocardiogram to optimise the pacemaker settings to maximise the efficiency of the heart as it pumps. Several individual echocardiography (echo) Doppler parameters have been used for pacemaker optimisation with improvement in cardiac output acutely, a reduction in heart failure symptoms, and improved exercise capacity.

Echo-guided biventricular (Biv) pacemaker optimisation has been associated with improvement in acute cardiac haemodynamics and patient symptoms.
